Rio Coca

For the Coca River’s Break, the designed plan included the dredging of 1.7 million cubic meters, and work on the riverbank protection to change the flow of the riverbed. 7 breakwaters with Megabolsas (Geocontainers) of 12 cubic meters were constructed using dump trucks to launch the bags; also a wall of Geotubes ( 3) was built.

La Victoria – Colombia 2012

The 2012 rainy season was specially harsh in Colombia. The waters of the Rio Grande in Magdalena, surpassed all recorded flood levels to date.
La Victoria’s break encompassed three gushes that flooded an area measuring 18,500 square kilometers. The William gush had a width of 174 meters, with an average depth of 5.5 meters and 11 meters in height, and a flow of 720 cubic meters per second. The current speed rate during construction exceeded 5 meters per second.
Using Ginalsah’s Megabags we were able to control and protect the riverbank.
